At RPE Face Fit Solutions, we also offer Face Fit Training for organisations that prefer to handle their own Face Fit Testing of employees or contractors.
Our Qualitative "Train the Tester" course (often mistakenly called "Train the Trainer") is a hands-on, interactive program delivered exclusively by Fit2Fit-accredited testers.

On-Site Training at Your Location
Perfect for businesses that need training delivered on their own premises, this option is ideal for larger teams training together.
We understand that coordinating schedules can be challenging, but on-site training allows us to offer you a cost-effective solution that is interactive and engaging.
All we need is a suitable room with a projector or a connected screen/TV (if required, we can provide a projector).
If you only need training for one or two individuals you might like to consider our popular cost effective training solution for smaller teams. These Open Courses allow trainees to attend a scheduled course at one of our convenient locations, allowing you to minimise the disruption involved with on-site training.

What Does the Course Cover?
Our Face Fit Testing Training courses are centred around the HSE’s INDG479 guidelines, supported by the Fit2Fit Companion and HSG 53. The course covers the following topics:

Common workplace hazards

This interactive and practical course ensures that your staff are both competent and confident in performing face fit tests on a range of RPE. It also serves as excellent preparation for the BSIF Fit2Fit assessment.
Our course is ideal for small groups or individuals and are delivered by experienced, enthusiastic Fit2Fit accredited face fit testers. Learners are required to demonstrate their competence through both theoretical and practical assessments before certification is awarded.
The course can be delivered either onsite (if a suitable room is available) or at one of our centres.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I Need to be clean-shaven to attend?
Anyone wearing tight-fitting RPE should be clean-shaven where the mask seals to the skin, as stubble or facial hair can create a barrier and reduce its effectiveness. However, since this is a training course, our focus is on ensuring that you feel comfortable and confident in conducting a Face Fit Test. Being clean-shaven is not a requirement for attendance.
Do I Need to Bring Anything With me?
No, We provide all the training materials and Face Fit Test Kits for training purposes. However, if you don’t already have a kit, you’ll need to order one to conduct your own testing after completing the course. All we ask for are enthusiastic and willing learners!
Can This Training be Done Online?
While some providers do offer this training online, the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) recommends that it be completed in person. RPE Face Fit Solutions strongly support this guidance. To fully understand the testing process and to ensure the highest level of safety for your employees, face-to-face training is essential.
After all, when it comes to health and safety, cutting corners can lead to costly consequences down the line.
